Terms of Service

QBox Player — Last updated 17 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of QBox Player ("QBox Player," "the app," or "the service"), developed and operated by OpenRise Studio ("we," "us," or "our").

Before creating or uploading your first drop, the app asks you to review and accept these Terms. You cannot create or upload a drop without accepting them. By accepting, or by continuing to use QBox Player's online sharing features afterward, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Qbox Player's online sharing features.

1. Eligibility

QBox Player is intended for users aged eighteen and older. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least eighteen years old and legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.

2. What QBox Player Does

QBox Player allows you to:

A drop expires after the period selected when it is created. The expiry period is twenty-four hours and is fixed for every drop; an admin may extend a specific drop's expiry further in some cases (for example, a promotional campaign).

We may remove a drop earlier for technical, security, legal, copyright, moderation, or policy reasons.

3. No Account and Device Identifier

QBox Player does not require a user account. The app generates a random identifier the first time it is opened and uses it to operate online features, enforce limits, associate drops with the device that created them, prevent abuse, and apply reporting actions.

On Android, this identifier is derived from your device's system ID and normally stays the same across an uninstall and reinstall on the same device (see our Privacy Policy for details); it can change after a factory reset or a device user profile change. Simply updating the app never changes it.

4. Your Content and Your Responsibilities

You retain any ownership rights that you legally hold in audio files, titles, descriptions, and other content that you upload or share through QBox Player.

By creating or sharing a drop, you represent and warrant that:

The fact that an audio file is stored on your device, available online, purchased by you, or accessible through another application does not necessarily give you the right to redistribute it.

5. License Needed to Operate a Drop

When you create a drop, you grant OpenRise Studio a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, temporary license to host, copy, process, transmit, and make the uploaded content available solely as necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and deliver that drop.

This license ends when the uploaded audio is deleted, except that we may retain limited metadata and records as explained in our Privacy Policy or where retention is reasonably necessary for security, enforcement, disputes, copyright complaints, or legal compliance.

6. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You must not use QBox Player to upload, distribute, promote, request, or facilitate content that:

You must also not:

7. Reporting and Blocking

Recipients can use separately labelled controls in the app to report a drop or block its sender:

Reports should be made honestly and must not be used to harass another person, manipulate the service, or submit knowingly false claims.

We may use reports, automated signals, usage patterns, legal notices, copyright complaints, and other information to investigate potential violations. We are not required to wait for a particular number of reports before taking action.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

Where we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been violated, we may:

Enforcement decisions may be based on a single serious report or violation. We are not obligated to restore content or reverse a restriction, although we may reconsider a decision when sufficient information is provided.

9. Copyright Complaints

OpenRise Studio respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe that content made available through a QBox Player drop infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@openrisestudio.com.

Please include:

We may request additional information, remove or restrict the reported content, preserve relevant records, or take action against repeated or serious infringers.

10. Advertisements and Third-Party Services

QBox Player may display advertisements provided through Google AdMob. Advertisement content is provided by third parties and may be subject to separate terms and privacy practices.

The app also relies on third-party services such as hosting providers, analytics or diagnostic services, and app-store services.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, products, advertisements, or content that we do not control.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of information are described in the QBox Player Privacy Policy.

By using the service, you acknowledge that information will be processed as described in that policy.

12. Service Availability and Changes

We may add, remove, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that:

You are responsible for maintaining your own original copies and backups of audio files. QBox Player is not a permanent file-storage or backup service.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to online features when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the service or others, comply with law, respond to legal or copyright complaints, or address security and operational risks.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination — including ownership, licenses already required to process an existing matter, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and enforcement provisions — will continue to apply.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, QBox Player is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenRise Studio and its owners, developers, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or connected with QBox Player.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the app, our practices, legal requirements, or security and operational needs. The revised Terms will be posted with an updated date.

Where required, we will provide additional notice or request renewed acceptance. Continuing to use the service after updated Terms become effective means that you accept them, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.

17. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
